Legens
Well, I'm here. I was trying to stay out of the Legens, since it seems to bring me nothing but bother. But everyone's whispering in corners now about the ball and something about a mystery matchmaker, so I thought I'd better check and see what was going on.

Is this for real?

Yes, there's a Valentine's Ball on Thursday, and a Legens from the Matchmaker appeared this morning...someone's pairing up everyone who doesn't have a date.

I believe you're on the list...

I did see that, first with Draco, as if that would ever happen.

And now with Neville, which would be fine, but I saw Luna expressed an interest in attending with him and I wouldn't want to interfere there.

Er...well, then who do you want to attend with?

You don't have to go with Neville. Hannah says he's planning on spending the evening with his parents anyway.

I don't know, I suppose I would like to go. I hate to admit it, but sometimes I do miss things being normal. You know? Even if there are so many more important things to do now, it would be nice to have one normal night.

Nott didn't turn out to be so bad, once I talked to him a little, I wouldn't have minded if he'd asked me, I suppose. I haven't had a chance to talk to him lately though, I suppose he's been busy. I don't even know if he's going to the dance.

Part of me thinks it would be fun to go with one of the students from this time though. Can you imagine? You could go on a date with a Professor, or someone's dad! Wouldn't THAT be an experience!

I don't know, I don't suppose I'll go at all, as much as it might be fun, I'm just not sure I'd feel right.

No, you should come! I'll be dragging Ron--although he doesn't know that yet--and it will be fun, really.

You could ask Nott...he seemed to like you, too. I wasn't kidding when I said that in the hospital wing.

It's good to see you and Ron finally together, he is a bit oblivious though isn't he?

You weren't kidding in the hospital wing, you were trying to cause a distraction. You're good at lots of things Hermione, but subtlety isn't your strongest subject.

We'll see, if I see him around before then, maybe I can get HIM to ask ME.

[ooc: I haven't been super active lately, and he hasn't been active at all. We had a thread going that just died and he answered my PM's lately. :( ]

Unfortunately, we aren't together...at least not officially. We had a fight, but I will not let him escape the Valentine's Ball. But he'd BETTER apologize first...

Yes...well...that's true.

I'm sure it'll work out Hermione, I forsee that getting your way with Ron will definitely be one of your strongest subjects!

So, what are you going to wear. Are you going to transfigure something? I mean, it's not like I brought any party clothes with me, or any money to buy them for that matter. Everyone's been really nice about lending me robes and school clothes, but I think a party dress is a bit to much to hope for.

I'm not sure. I suppose I'll have to transfigure something.

If I decide to go, maybe we could help each other. Two wands are better than one and all that.

Sure. We're in the same dorm, after all.

Could I ask you a favor?

Could you try to avoid fighting with the Slytherins?

I know sometimes they can be difficult like that bloody Parkinson but we need to stop the fighting within our group.

Believe me, if I wasn't already trying you'd know about it.

I don't trust them, and I don't understand why you do. But I have been trying to not actively fight with them.

That doesn't mean I want to go to a ball with Draco bloody Malfoy though.

He's going with Hannah anyway

Well, I'm not sure if I trust them or not, to be honest. But I'm trying to, because I know that we need to work together if we want to change the future.

That's one possibility. I'm willing to concede that they must be here for a reason, but I'm not as sure as everyone else seems to be that they are here to help us.

As far as I'm concerned, this may be ceasefire, but there is still a war going on, and they are still the enemy.

Some of them are obviously thinking about changing sides, and if they do, I'm willing to accept them. But some of them haven't shown any sign of changing sides or doing much of anything else, except whining, for that matter.

I agree with you.

I don't know exactly how we ended up in the past. Perhaps that's the key to discovering the Slytherins' allegiances.

If Professor Dumbledore really sent us back to save the future, as I believe, then he wouldn't send anyone who could hurt it.

I think we all probably have the potential to hurt the future. That's the tricky part, there are just so many variables. We could probably write a book about chaos theory if we manage to survive this.

It's just something to think about. They don't have to be actively aiding us, in order to aid us, if you see what I'm saying. They just have to cause something to happen that causes something else to happen.
